Industrial monitoring · mining and agriculture
We design, build and operate end-to-end monitoring systems (sensors, electronics, connectivity, platform and AI) so mining and agricultural operations know what's happening in the field and what to do about it.
CL · AUEngineering across Chile and Australia.
From the haul truck tipping into the crusher to the SAG mill and flotation: we measure what keeps the plant running.
Dust at the lease boundary and tailings dam stability, with continuous data instead of spot samples.
Weather, soil and irrigation by block, turned into spray, irrigation and harvest decisions.
Tanks, troughs and pumps visible from the homestead, without driving the property every day to check waters.
What we measure
Camera with computer vision at the dump pocket.
Wireless sensor on critical equipment such as the mill.
Monitor at the crusher and conveyor transfers.
Measured on the slurry line to flotation.
We connect the meter already in the switch room.
We connect the belt scale on the feed conveyor.
Vibration out of rangeplan maintenance before the failure
Continuous monitors between the mine and the townsite.
We connect the existing weather station.
We connect the vibrating wire piezometers in the embankment.
Prisms or tilt sensors on the crest.
Radar sensor on the decant tower.
PM10 above trigger levelwater haul roads before the limit is reached
We connect the existing weather station.
Leaf sensor for powdery and downy mildew models.
Probes in the root zone, at several depths.
We connect the flow meter in the irrigation shed.
Temperature at bud height.
Camera trap for catch counts.
Powdery mildew riskspray at the right time
Ultrasonic or pressure sensor on each tank.
Sensor on the most remote troughs.
Monitoring of the solar or electric pump.
We connect the existing flow meter.
We connect the homestead rain gauge.
Trough running lowstart the pump without a trip out
The problem
Wear, weather, energy, flow: variables that drive cost and decisions, yet today they are estimated by eye or measured too late.
Installed sensors, spreadsheets and systems that don't talk to each other and never lead to a clear decision.
The hardware supplier blames the software supplier, and vice versa. Meanwhile, the system goes down and nobody finds out.
Why Helialab
We design the electronics, write the firmware, set up connectivity and the cloud, and train the models. You deal with one accountable team, not four suppliers to coordinate.
We don't make you buy our box. We connect to the instrumentation already installed (Modbus, RS-485, existing gateways) and add only what's missing.
We hand over documentation and train your team so the system doesn't depend on us. And we monitor the system itself (connectivity, power, cloud costs) so we know about a fault before you do.
Services
Four ways to work with us. Most relationships start with a diagnostic.
2–3weeks · fixed scope and price
We review your instrumentation, data and connectivity, and deliver a report on what to measure, how to do it and what it would cost.
We design and build the system: custom hardware, sensor networks, firmware, web platform and data models. Quoted per project, with clear deliverables.
A monthly agreement to maintain, improve and support the system in operation: new features, model tuning, monitoring and fault response.
We supply sensors and equipment as part of your projects, chosen and validated by us for your application. We don't sell from a catalogue.
Capabilities
For technical teams who want to know what we work with.
3D modelling, load calculations and design reports; multilayer PCB design; low-power electronics; industrial interfaces; EMI/ESD protection.
Low-power microcontrollers and wireless nodes.
Cellular networks, industrial gateways, VPNs and site data networks.
Time-series databases, web dashboards and alerting modules.
Predictive models from field data, computer vision, signal processing and clustering, and AI assistants over the client's own documents and data.

Challenge
Vineyard technical teams needed to turn weather data into timely decisions: when to spray for powdery mildew, how fruit ripening is progressing and when a condition calls for action.
What we built
A web platform with powdery mildew risk models, bioclimatic indices and weather series; an alerting module by email and in the platform, with thresholds configurable per block; and a model that estimates fruit ripeness from microclimate data.
Outcome
In continuous operation.
About
Helialab is an engineering company founded in 2025, operating in Chile and Australia. We bring mechanical, electronics, firmware, software and data science together in one team, and add specialists as each project requires.
Many mining operations and their suppliers work in both countries; so do we. That way every project has one accountable team from end to end, and the team grows with the scale of the operation.
Design, calculations and field installation.
Low-power custom boards built for site conditions.
Nodes, gateways and data networks.
Dashboards, alerts and integration with existing systems.
Models, computer vision and assistants.
